About the Name of this Site - 1
The
main Hebrew title, “Geulah Shelemah,” can be translated “Total
Redemption,” “Perfect Redemption” or “Ultimate Redemption.” As
seen in the English word “Goal” (which is made up of the same
consonants as the Hebrew “Geulah”), Geulah is the Goal of the
Historical Drama.
The English subtitle is not
a translation. Rather, “Pathways to Redemption” refers to the various
possible (and impossible) “scenarios” with which Israel and Mankind
will be confronted as history accelerates ever more rapidly towards the
Messianic Era and the Great Sabbath that follows it. Some of these
scenarios are extremely positive, desirable and joyous. Essentially they
involve Israel (the Jewish people) and a good part of Humanity waking
up to the truth and reality of G-d’s Existence and bonding and
working together to bring the world to higher and higher levels of G-d
consciousness.
As noted in our
Introductory Essay (“The Cosmic Clock”), we have entered and are
living through the final stages of a great Messianic Drama that will lead
to greater and greater revelations of the G-dly Unity that underlies all
existence. With the advent of the Messianic Era, we will see the return of
prophecy (which will involve a quantum leap in consciousness not only for
select individuals but for all Mankind), the revelation of the deepest
secrets of creation, the establishment of the Messianic Kingdom, the
building and perfect service of the 3rd Temple in Jerusalem for Israel and
all Mankind, the Resurrection of the Dead in angelic light-bodies, etc.
In the meantime, the great
spiritual light that is already partially shining (and that will shine
ever more brightly as this positive awakening gains momentum) will be so
powerful that, not only those who un-knowingly served evil’s ends, but
even those who consciously and willingly embodied its energy, will be able
to free themselves and be cleansed. Even the force of evil itself that
seemingly does everything it can to forestall and undermine the Redemption
process will gain by being exposed for what it really is – a complete
charade. Everybody will gain with the advent of the Messianic Era.
On the other hand, some of
the scenarios that will precede and lead up to the Messianic Era are
negative. These include the possibility of war, large-scale destruction,
etc. In a very important sense, these scenarios differ from the other
promised events. They are definitely optional, i.e. whether or not they
occur depends on us.
All of these Pathways to
Redemption were included in G-d’s Original Plan that preceded Creation.
In other words, they are rooted back in what the Sefer Yetzirah calls the
“Lamed-Beth Netivot Peli’ot Chochmah [32 Wondrous/Hidden Paths of
Wisdom]. Like threads in an exquisite tapestry or sub-plots in a play, no
individual pathway can be understood apart from its fellows. All we know
is that each fulfills a special purpose. In addition, although each
pathway exists separately in spacetime, they nevertheless all exist
simultaneously in consciousness. When
all of these wondrous pathways finally converge, we will look back and
understand how they all led to Geulah Shelemah, the ultimate rendezvous
with G-d at the end of history.
Thus, according to ancient
Jewish (Biblical, Prophetic) teachings, History – the evolution of human
consciousness on this planet – is moving inexorably towards a
Rendezvous, an EndPoint, at which time a series of events will take place
which will usher in a new level of reality. This will constitute an actual
“breaking of the spiritual eggshell” that presently surrounds the
planet Earth, preventing most humans from experiencing the higher reality
that exists above the earth plane…
